We have a great selection of Side Panels

At Made in The Shade Blinds of Pittsburgh we offer Side Panels as part of our customizing suggestions.

Side Panels are Draperies that are designed to hang on each side of window and be stationary.  We have many colors and patterns available for Draperies that could be used as Side Panels.

Side Panels are available in two different sizes:  20” wide for smaller windows and 40” wide for larger windows.  When we say 20” wide that Window Treatment would actually have 50” of material for fullness and when we say 40”, that material would actually have 100” for fullness.

And because Side Panels can be more economical than Draperies we can use Side Panels as Draperies as long as the width is not exceeded.  For Example, if a window is 36” wide the customer may choose to do one 20” side panel with a swag holding the Panel to either side.  Since there is 50” of material the Panel could be closed to cover the entire window but it just wouldn’t have the same fullness.  This would be true for a much larger window where 2 20” Side Panels could comfortable cover a window up to 70” wide.

Many times customers who move into new homes will call us for a consultation. Their biggest concern initially is privacy and light control.  We can offer many ideas to solve these issues by suggesting Blinds, Shades, Shutters, or Draperies.

The customer may choose to begin with a Shade.  Then later will contact us for ideas on how to dress up the window. This is a great use for Side Panels.  They can be mounted over an existing Shade and really accent that Window Treatment.  They would additionally block any light gap that may be associated with an inside mount Shade. We can also provide Top Treatments in the same or a matching fabric to complement the Window.
