Why In-Home Consultations are the best way to shop for Window Treatments
Made in The Shade Blinds of Pittsburgh rented a booth for the Celebrate Monroeville event at the Monroeville Convention Center. There we were able to showcase some of our Window Treatments and talk to local home owners and business people.
We were able to display Wood Blinds, Faux Wood Blinds, Plantation Shutters, Honeycomb Shades, Roller Shades, Top Down/Bottom Up Shades, and the new Overture Shades and Silhouette style Shades.
Many attendees who came to our booth would describe certain windows in their house and would ask for suggestions. We are able to provide photos and examples of might work for each application but it is much better if we could see the windows ourselves.
That is an advantage that Made in The Shade Blinds of Pittsburgh has over showrooms. A showroom is very similar to the booth we rented in that it can showcase examples of window treatments but to truly provide an accurate portrayal of the potential end product we must visit the home or business. By doing this we can compare paints, colors, stains, and patterns to existing furnishings. We can inspect the window to determine which treatment would be best.
Another advantage we have by not maintaining a showroom is pricing. Maintaining a showroom is expensive when you consider rent, utilities, and employees. By eliminating these expenses we can pass great savings onto our customers.
When a customer contacts us we begin by setting up a convenient time to come to the home or business. We can be very flexible with our time and we don’t mind evening or weekend appointments. Once we arrive we begin by consulting the customer and looking at their windows. We can give ideas from our window treatment photos to determine which direction the customer is headed. Then we can provide samples and catalogs to the customer so he or she can compare the colors and determine which color or pattern will suit them best. We can demonstrate how some window treatments can filter or block light, how some products will look when mounted, and how some window treatments will operate. As always, our in-home consultations are free.
We never pressure our customers into an order. We generally email the quote at a later time so the customer can make a decision at their own pace. If the customer decides to proceed we place the order then set up a convenient time for installation.
