Plantation Shutters for that “Beachy” look

We just got back from vacationing in Bethany Beach and the thing we love most about those beach houses, other than the fact that they are on the beach, is the Plantation Shutters.

Plantation Shutters, depending on the style and color chosen, can give your home that same “beachy” look.  At Made in The Shade Blinds of Pittsburgh we have many colors and styles of Shutters to choose from.

For some time, Shutters have been very fashionable on the coast, the south and the west regions of this country.  They are just beginning to become popular in the Pittsburgh area not only because they are beautiful but also because they provide insulation and can add value to your home, as they are considered permanent fixtures.

Shutters can be mounted inside or outside of your existing window casing (trim).  If you do not have casing around the windows you can choose one of our decorative Shutter frames that, when mounted, give the look of casing.  By doing this you achieve not only the beautiful Shutter but also a frame that is aesthetically pleasing, for much less than having a casing installed with the Shutter.

If you have window casing that you would like to improve the look of, we can mount one of our frames over it again achieving a great look.  And if you are happy with the casing you already have, we can mount the Shutter so the casing is still very much visible.

At Made in The Shade Blinds of Pittsburgh many of our customers don’t consider Shutters because they mistakenly believe that they are too expensive.   The truth is that while Shutters are one of the more expensive window treatments the value they add makes up for the expense.  Our customers who get them love them and they never regret the decision.
